Summer School 2023: Grease
THE ONE YOU WANT. THE ONE YOU NEED. OH YES INDEED!
The Old Nick Company Hobart Theatre Summer School is back for its 19th year with Grease The Musical!
After a whirlwind summer romance, leather-clad greaser Danny and girl-next-door Sandy are unexpectedly reunited when she transfers to Rydell High for senior year. But can they survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life and find true love once more?
This production is directed by David Thomson, musical direction by Andrew Castles and choreographed by Caitlin Carnaby.
It’s the one that you want - so don’t miss out!
The curtain has officially come down on the Old Nick Hobart Theatre Summer School's 2023 production of Grease, and what a production it was! 🍿🎭
✍️ "The atmosphere of the theatre was electric,"
✍️ "It's thrilling to see the talent and enthusiasm of such young performers,"
✍️ "We loved every minute and didn’t want it to end,"
✍️ "...A superb production, as good as any of the professional productions I have seen,"
We welcomed the Hobart Theatre Summer School's largest audience since 2007, which was incredibly heartening in light of recent industry challenges 🥹❤️🩹
We worked together as a company of 100+ people, with over 70% of members under the age of 20 🌱
We raised $3.5K for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute in honour of Australia's original Sandy 💰
THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible: to our phenomenal cast, production team, band, tech crew, front of house volunteers, donors, sponsors, venue and of course our audience 🙏
"Greasers, you must start anew,
Don't you know what you must do?
Hold your heads high,
Take a deep breath and sigh,
Good bye to Grease '23" 🎶
